Our platform is integrated with Meta's Facebook Groups API and Facebook Login. In order for Party Pilot to publish to Facebook Groups on your behalf, your Party Pilot account needs to be linked to your Facebook account. When you use the Get Facebook Token feature in Party Pilot, Facebook generates a Facebook User Token and sends the User Token and your Facebook User ID to Party Pilot. We store that data in our database. When you use the Add New Party or Edit Party features in Party Pilot, your Facebook Access Token and User ID are used to retrieve Facebook Groups for which you are an Admin. When you schedule a Party that is linked to a Facebook Party Template, Party Pilot schedules those posts. Party Pilot's Post to Group automation feature uses your Facebook Access Token and User ID to publish these posts to your Facebook Groups on your behalf.
The first time you create a Facebook Party Template inside Party Pilot, you are directed to the Get Facebook Token feature where you will log into Facebook from inside Party Pilot to link the accounts. When you do this, Party Pilot logs you into Facebook if you are not already logged in, and as mentioned previously, receives the User Access Token and your Facebook User ID and stores them in our database. This information is necessary for the Party Pilot features that are integrated with Facebook to function properly. We only use this data to retrieve Facebook Groups for which you are an Admin and to publish your scheduled posts to the Facebook Groups you’ve requested us to. For your protection, Facebook may require your Access Token to be reset. If it does need to be reset, Party Pilot will notify you via email with a link to the Reset Facebook Token feature and step by step instructions.
You will need to follow these steps promptly so there is no interruption to your scheduled posts.
Since the Get Facebook Token feature requires you to log in to Facebook, a Log Out button will be provided for you so you can log out of Facebook after we have retrieved the required data.
If you ever want your Facebook data deleted from Party Pilot, there is a 'Delete Facebook Data' button on the 'Reset Facebook Token' page. When you click this button, Party Pilot will immediately delete your Facebook Access Token and Facebook User ID from our database. Note, this will prevent Party Pilot from being able to retrieve the list of groups for which you are an admin or post any scheduled posts to your Facebook groups. Party Pilot will not delete your scheduled posts until it is time for them to be posted, so they will be there if you wish to restore the link between your Facebook and Party Pilot accounts.
